God's economy is not man's economy. He can do so much more than we are able to imagine. Then why do we limit Him and count on our plans rather than His plans?
Think about it. When I get an idea that I think will honor God, at first I get really excited about doing His work. Yes, the work is hard, but there are plans I make that God will be excited about. How am I going to pay for everything? How will key elements fall into place? Who will I have to convince to help me accomplish God's plan?
Wait.. What? Who's plan? That's right, we feel the need to take charge of God's plan, wrenching it into place, molding and shaping it into something we can accomplish for God.
Is that really what He intends for us when He invites us to do His work? Where is the wonder and mystery in that? Where is the sense of adventure with God? Where are God's fingerprints on His work?
Let's get real. If anything lasting it going to be accomplished, it's going to happen in God's time, with His resources, with His fingerprints all over it. We are just tools really, and honestly, not really even that much help in God's economy. Let's settle in and discover what God really wants to accomplish with His plans, in His economy.
